“From their latest EP, ‘Ithaca’, Courtesy Tier brings this climactic and brooding single ‘When I’m Down’. A folk-rock exuberance of the black hat kind, it is in existence within the cross hairs of David Grey and Band Of Horses, ‘When I’m Down’ is gritty charm, decked out in the Sunday best with work-boots of heart and soul, ready to serve.
Courtesy Tier is based out of New York City, and they bring their diverse backgrounds, both personal and musical, to blend together smart and fresh attitudes to rock.
Omer Leibovitz, Layton Weedeman and Alex Picca are the trio that makes this engine of lyrics and vibes, go.” - Come Here Floyd

“The classic make up of this single ‘Forget and Pretend’ is devastating. Devastatingly heft. Devastatingly real. Devastatingly indulgent in the ways of our psyches. A realization for the past and the present. A driven single that is reminiscent of The Doors, while exacting delicious jazzy and bluesy hymns, the song is a overriding testament to an emotive trip to the nether-Universe. COURTSEY TIER is made up of Omer Leibovitz, Layton Weedeman, and Alex Picca, the progressive blues rock band, just hits the mark. The lively and accurate solo, to the supportive licks of the chords, and to the scintillating lyrics, ‘Forget And Pretend’ gives off the right aura that he Brooklyn NY based band, intended from the first.” - Come Here Floyd

Following their 2016 debut album Everyone’s OK, Courtesy Tier returns with Dwellers, a 14-track compilation comprised of recordings mostly produced by the band themselves. This is a retrospective, spanning nearly a decade, including unreleased material, b-sides, and private works from the band's personal studio in NYC. It tells a story of the making of a musical duo-turned-trio, and, of an evolution in songwriting for the group. Stand-out tracks like “Standing Near”, “Alright Mama” and “Calling Out” harmoniously blend alt-country, dark-soul and 90's era underground into a molten brew rife with trial and hope. The upbeat “Rescue” and “In Some Dreams” show the bands willingness to branch out sonically, testing the limits of their modest NYC studio from washed out soundscapes to jagged back beats ripped apart and re-sewn into oddly toe-tapping pop monstrosities. The full-length is released on their own label Birdwire Records with distribution by Beverly Martel and is currently available through iTunes, Spotify and all other digital formats.
