Yellow Couch Music
Yellow Couch Music is the collaborative project of drummer, composer, and producer Layton Weedeman, an artist rooted in groove, improvisation, and collective creation. Blending jazz, hip-hop, soul, and global influences, the project treats rhythm as a shared language and collaboration as the music itself.
POVEDA
POVEDA is a Brooklyn-based collaboration between Cuban singer-songwriter Roberto Poveda and American drummer/producer Layton Weedeman. Formed after a chance elevator meeting in 2015, the project bridges traditional Cuban folk music with modern influences drawn from jazz, hip-hop, and global rhythms. Rooted in a deep respect for Cuban troubadour traditions, POVEDA reimagines Roberto’s three-decade catalog with contemporary production, giving timeless songs renewed life.
Van Pool
Van Pool is a free-form, transportive project that wanders from tranquil guitar-and-sax undergrowth to bent, piercing intensity, featuring Andy Haas, Omer Leibovitz, Kirk Schoenherr, Ari Folman-Cohen, and Layton Weedeman.
LHW aka DJ Laytonic
LHW is where Layton explores beat-making through the lens of his hip-hop heroes, using minimalism and repetition as the foundation. Built around loops, texture, and feel, the project exists outside of expectation—less about refinement than process, and more about honoring influence while pushing instinct forward.
